Surf Artist - Tony Spineto
Introducing Californian surf artist Tony Spineto... "Inspired by the ocean, in color, form, and content, Tony focuses on creating works of art that capture the essence of the freedom and flow of the sea, both in the simplicity of tropical seascapes, to the flashback artistic renderings of the surfers of the past. Through a kaleidoscope of brilliant colors, his honest, pure style of meandering dry brush strokes mixed with a unique perspective of natural objective form brings new meaning to his subject matter."

Surf Artist - Paul Browne
British artist Paul Browne documents the Californian surf culture... "My work mainly revolves around landscape and people. I'm fascinated with the ocean and especially southern California, which to me is the 'promised land'. After returning from a road trip a few years back, I've felt the need to document it on canvas."

Save The Dolphins
I have put together an article on COTW on a rather grim subject I care a lot about. As seen in the media over recent years, exposing these things can eventually lead to a positive conclusion...
In Japan, for six months of every year, thousands of dolphins are hunted and chased into a cove known as the "floating graveyard" near the village of Taiji. Once entrapped in this cove, the dolphins are brutally slaughtered. The water runs red with their blood and their screams fill the air and the surrounding ocean. Please check out the article for more...

Sharks, Surfers & Surf Photographers
This debate is all about how surfers, and in particular, surf photographers feel about sharks... After all, they do work and play in their domain! Sightings and even encounters are not unheard of, as many surf photographers can testify to! Thought it would be an interesting topic with all the hype there is in the news recently about shark attacks... So I asked a few surf photographers (and surfers/artists) how they felt about swimming/surfing in the sea, knowing it is possible to encounter a shark, and if it preys on their mind? If they fear them? If they've had a close encounter, witnessed one, had a scare (real or paranoia)...?
